Type locality: Skørpen, Kvaenangen, Norway (Woelkerling 1998: 335). Lectotype: M. Foslie; 8.ix.1890; TRH B11-2311, includes slides 137 and 138; designated by Woelkerling, 1993: 53 (Woelkerling et al. 2005: 307). Notes: Isolectotypes: PC, Foslie no. 16, Thuret-Bornet Herbarium (box collection, filed under Lithothamnion colliculosum); BM, algal box collection 421.
