Norveg. 2: t. 7, f. 5. 1776 – Epitype (designated here): Norway, Nordland, Roberg, 1884, M. Foslie (TRH). The epitype is a young specimen of Laminaria saccharina (L.) Lamour. according to Foslie (1885)."
