The type species (holotype) of the genus Dasya is Dasya pedicellata (C.Agardh) C.Agardh.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Heterosiphonia pulchra (Okamura) Falkenberg.

Syntype localities: Iwaki, Sagami, Oshima [Japan]; (Okamura 1896: 33) Type: SAP; herb. Okamura (Yoshida 1998: 950) Notes: Alg. Jap. Exsicc. No. 75. Lectotype locality: Iwaki, Fukushima Prefecture, apparently selected by Yoshida (1998: 950, fig. 3-94C).
