Adjective (Latin), like a lichen.

According to Silva et al. (1996: 158), this taxon apparently lies within the circumscription of Gracilaria edulis but has not yet been transferred or reduced to synomy. Millar & Xia (1997) cite this as a synonym of Gracilaria edulis.
This is a marine species.
