Type locality: La Jolla, California; (Kylin 1941: 12) Lectotype: H. Kylin; juni 1922; LD; 6-0115 (Gabrielson 2008: 108) Notes: An isotype is found on the same sheet and syntypes were distributed as Phycotheca Boreali Americana No. 199b (as Prionitis lanceolata (Gabrielson 2008: 108).
