Type locality: Naozhou Island, Guangdong, China (Tseng & Lu Baoren 1992: 29). Notes: Tseng & Lu (1992: 29) give the following data: growing on lower intertidal and subtidal rocks; in April (AST 55-1653, 55-1705, 55-1706, 55-1709); Qinzhou and Fangcheng, Guangxi, in May (AST 55-2037, 55-2038, 55-2114, 55-2115, 55-2116, 55-2148, 55-2153, 55-2180).
