Type Species
The type species (lectotype) of the genus Laurencia is Laurencia obtusa (Hudson) J.V.Lamouroux.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Osmundea estebaniana (Setchell & N.L.Gardner) J.N.Norris.
