Type information
Type locality: Near northern limit of Bahía San Francisco, Esmeraldas, Ecuador (Dawson 1953: 63). Holotype: Taylor No. 34-489; Feb. 11, 1934; At a depth of 5.4 meters with corallinae. HAHF Sheet 160 (Dawson 1953: 63). Notes: Type (cystocarpic and tetrasporic) dredged in 5.4 m of water with corallinae near the northeastern side of Ba. San Francisco (Taylor, 1945). According to Grusz & Freshwater (2014: 101) the holotype is now in MICH.
