Type locality: off Post Office Bay, I. Santa María, Galápagos Islands, Ecuador (Taylor 1945: 277). Type: W.R. Taylor no. 34-381; 29 January 1934; Hancock Foundation (Taylor 1945: 277). Notes: Type (cystocarpic) rare as dredged from 56 metres’ depth.
