This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Asperococcus fistulosus (Hudson) W.J.Hooker
Type locality: Brest (Athanasiadis 1996: 178). Type: on Fucus serratus.

Adjective (Latin), creeping, prostrate and rooting; arching and then rooting (Stearn 1973).
