Bremen; Kiathanabach, Bosporus (Index Nominum Algarum). Notes: Simonsen (1987) designated the whole slide 62/1 as the lectotype of N. capitellata, while illustrating considerable morphological variation among Nitzschia specimens on this slide. Witkowski et al. 2000 noted that the lectotype slide likely includes several species of Nitzschia... (Desianti et al., 2015: 105).
