This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Amphicampa mirabilis Ehrenberg ex Ralfs.

Origin of Species Name
Adjective A (Latin), snake-like, i.e., bent forwards and backwards into a wavy line; growing on serpentine rock (Stearn 1973).
