This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Paludicola gombakensis (Kumano & Ratnasabapathy) M.L.Vis & Necchi.

Holotype locality: Sungai Gombak, selangor, Malaysia; (Ratnasabapathy & Kumano 1982: 120) Holotype: Ratnasabapathy No. 1220; 31 May 1976; Attached to large submerged rocks or boulders, 10-25 cm below surface of clear stream waters, flowing through reserved forest; KLU; (Ratnasabapathy & Kumano 1982: 120) Notes: Isotype: Ratnasabapathy No. 1221, 3/V 1976, TNS-AL 169097.
