Type Species
The type species (lectotype) of the genus Ceratoneis is Ceratoneis closterium Ehrenberg.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Hannaea arcus var. amphioxys (Rabenhorst) R.M.Patrick.

Brun, Genève. The epitype is here represented by Fig. 51 in Van der Vijver & Ector (2020).
