General Environment
This is a marine species.

Description
Species up to 12 cm in height; main axes alternately branched to many orders, rarely trichotomous; axes up to 1.2 mm in diameter below, decreasing to less than 0.5 mm above; axes densely covered by verticillately arranged lateral branchlets; lateral branches entirely monosiphonous, to 3.0 mm in length; tetrasporangial stichidia sessile or more commonly with a single-celled pedicel; stichidia with up to 12 fertile segments, measuring to a maximum of 525 microns in length and 110 microns in diameter; fertile stichidia segments with four pericentral cells, each giving rise to a single sporangium, 34-40 microns in diameter, with two cover cells; gametophytes unknown.
