Type locality: "in oceano australi ?" (probably New Zealand); (Silva & al. 1996: 507) Holotype: LD, Herb. Agardh; 37171 (Womersley 2003: 481) Notes: This type locality was first recorded by Papenfuss (1952: 184). According to Womersley (2003) the type is from New Zealand.
