Published in: Itono, H. (1985). Rhodolachne radicosa, a new species of red alga (Rhodomelaceae, Ceramiales) from Fiji and southern parts of Japan. Occasional Papers of the Kagoshima University Research Center of the South Pacific 5: 53-64.
Type Species
The type species (holotype) of the genus Rhodolachne is Rhodolachne decussata M.J.Wynne.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Bostrychia radicosa (Itono) J.A.West, G.C.Zuccarello & M.H.Hommersand.
Type Information
Neotype locality: Plage de Foué Fishing Village (21°06'27" S; 164°49'76"E), New Caledonia; (West & al. 2006: 10) Neotype: J.A. West; 2.vii.2001; On Avicennia; NSW; 714892 (West & al. 2006: 10) Notes: Yoshida (1998: 1077) gives the type as HI 19841, meaning H. Itono No. 19841. West et al. (2006: 10-11) quote Yoshizaki that Itono's specimens were lost when they were transferred to Toho University, and they designate a neotype from New Caledonia in NSW.
