This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Carinadinium ornatum (Hoppenrath) Hoppenrath, Reñé & Satta.

Type locality: west coast of the island of Sylt (55°01.73'N, 08°21.00E), Germany; (Hoppenrath 2000: 99) Holotype: fig. 44: sublittoral sand; (Hoppenrath 2000: 99)

Adjective (Latin), furnished, equipped, embellished, adorned (Stearn 1973).
