Type locality: Golfito Bay, near Golfo Dulce, Costa Rica (Dawson 1957: 15). Type: 13th June 1957; forming small mats on the iron hull of a sunken ship. Dawson 16822 (Dawson 1957: 15). Notes: Additonal material: D. 16859a, D. 16861. Named for Mr John Mc Nabb of Los Angeles, California.
