Type locality: Göttingen, Germany; (Gerneck 1907: 227) Notes: Lectotype (designated by Darienko & Pröschold 2017): Fig. 9 (4–6) in Gerneck 1907. Epitype (designated by Darienko & Pröschold 2017): The strain SAG 2008 is permanently cryopreserved in a metabolically inactive state (cryopreserved in liquid nitrogen) in the SAG, University of Göttingen, Germany.
Origin of Species Name
Participle (Latin), light green (Stearn 1973).
