This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Pseudo-nitzschia pseudodelicatissima (Hasle) Hasle
Type locality: from scattered localities in the North Atlantic (approximately 17º to 67ºN) as well as from Canadian and Chilean waters (Lundholm, Moestrup, Hasle & Hoef-Emden, 2003: 797).
Origin of species name
Adjective B (Latin), very delicate (Stearn 1973).
