Type locality: France: Meurthe-et-Moselle: Grange-en-Woëvre, "un étang de forêt"; (Index Nominum Algarum) Lectotype: Fig. A (A) in Bourrelly, d.c.: Fig. 1, e and f (epitype) (Kosmala et al. 2009: 475) Notes: Lectotype designated in Kosmala et al. (2009: 475). Epitype: permanently preserved material from strain CCAP 1224/17p, deposited at the herbarium of the Biology Faculty at Warsaw University.
