The type species (holotype) of the genus Lepocinclis is Lepocinclis globulus Perty.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Lepocinclis pseudofominii Zakryś & Łukomska.

Type locality: Ukraine: Kharkiv district: swamps; (Svirenko 1915: 124) Notes: "Holotype: Svirenko 1915, pl. 1, fig. 33 Epitype: Figure 3m designated herein supports the holotype (Svirenko 1915, pl. 1, fig. 33)" (Lukomska-Kowalczyk & al. 2019).
