The type species (lectotype) of the genus Goniolithon is Goniolithon papillosum (Zanardini ex Hauck) Foslie.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Neogoniolithon acropetum (Foslie & M.Howe) W.H.Adey.
