Type locality: Sri Lanka (Silva, Basson & Moe 1996: 126). Type: W. Ferguson; LD, herb. alg. Agardh 32252 (Huisman & Schils 2002: 247). Notes: Dawson (1953: 41) cites type locality as Ceylon.
