This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Balticola capensis (Pocock) Almgren.

Type locality: De Klip, Western Province, Cape Peninsula, South Africa *[Buffels Bay kopje] ; (Pocock 1960: 13) Type: Fig. 1, A, B: (Pocock 1960: 13) Notes: *The original locality (a small pan on granite at De Klip) having been destroyed, the Buffels Bay kopje is designated as a typical locality.

Adjective B (Latin), pertaining to the Cape, usually the Cape of Good Hope, South Africa.
