Status of name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Polysiphonia mollis J.D.Hooker & Harvey
Type locality: Hab. Georgetown Tasmaniae - (Miss Goodwin.) [Georgetown, Tasmania, Australia] (Zanardini 1874: 490). Holotype: Miss Goodwin; MCVE (Womersley 2003: 184).
