Type locality: Brairhwaite Bay, I. Soccoro, Islas Revilla Gigedo, Mexico (Taylor 1945: 234). Type: W.R. Taylor no. 34-13; 2 January 1934; Hancock Foundation (Taylor 1945: 234). Notes: Type (tetrasporic and cystocarpic): abundant as dredged at sta. 129 from 25-32 m.
