The type species (lectotype) of the genus Achnanthes is Achnanthes adnata Bory.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Achnanthidium petersenii (Hustedt) C.E.Wetzel, Ector, D.M.Williams & Jüttner.
