This form differs from the type variety by having larger granules, diverging basal margins with four teeth at the tip and open sinus; the vertical view is elliptical and granules are prominent. Cell length 50-70 µm, width 50-80 µm, breadth of isthmus 14-20 µm, thickness 28-32 µm. Cells are approximately equal in length and breadth, lateral lobes are rounded and broad, and greatly extended. The wall is decorated with large granules, with four large teeth at lateral angles. Basal margins diverge, the apex of the apical lobe is flat or slightly retuse, and the sinus is open widely. The semicell face has a circular pattern of granules above the supraisthmial tubercle. In vertical view, semi-cells are broadly elliptical; the basal view of semicells shows four large granules around the isthmus.
