Type locality: "American Seas" (but thought to be South Africa; (Silva & al. 1996: 227) Notes: This type locality was first recorded by W.R. Taylor (1960: 411)
Origin of Species Name
Adjective (Latin), lobed or divided in the manner of an outspread hand with the sinuses between the lobes pointing to the place of attachment (Stearn 1973).
