Status of name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Dictyota dichotoma var. intricata (C.Agardh) Greville
Type locality: [Dalmatia], Mediterranean Sea (De Clerck 2003: 162). Holotype: MEL 537253 (De Clerck 2003: 162). Notes: De Clerck (2003) notes that Nizamudden (1981: 49) designated a specimen from Corfu, Greece as lectotype (L 936.289-4), but the specimen from Dalmatia, which Kützing illustrated, should be regarded as holotype and is deposited in Herb. Sonder (MEL).
