Type locality: not indicated (Silva 1996-to date). Type: symbiotic in the foraminifer Archais angulus. (Lee, Crockett, Hagen & Stone 1974: 409). Notes: Pocock et al. (2004: 1140) examined ATCC 50216: Chlamydomonas hedleyi (authentic strain) isolated by Lee, from foramaniferan Archais angulatus, Key Largo Sound , Fl, USA. This locality was not cited in Lee et al. 1974). Perhaps it was obtained from Lee & Zucker (1969).
