Authority cited as (West) C. Agardh by some. Fama et al. (2002, table 1), Silva et al. (1996: 815), Tsuda et al. (2011) and Index Nominum Algarum cite the authority as (Vahl) C. Agardh but it is also noted in INA that West in Vahl (?) is also on card. - (16 Aug 2011) - Wendy Guiry

Taxonomic notes
According to Silva et al. (1996) the name Caulerpa clavifera has been misapplied to this species by Jadin (1935: 156, in part). Please consult original reference for more information. According to South & Skelton (2003), Caulerpa juniperoides J. Agardh 1883 and Caulerpa urvilleana Montagne var. vitiensis Weber-van Bosse 1898 are synonyms of this species.
