Type locality: Bahía de San Lucas, Baja California, Mexico (Dawson 1962: 89). Holotype: 11 March 1949; Herb. A. Hancock Foundation E.Y.Dawson 6808 (Dawson 1962: 89). Notes: Dawson (1962: 89) notes that the type specimen was dredged in 36 m.
Named for Bahía de San Lucas, Baja California.
