Type locality: Greenland (Rosenvinge 1893: 926). Lectotype: C CAT 1210 (Brodie & al. 2007: 68). Notes: The lectotype is from Egedesminde, west Greeland
Origin of species name
Adjective (Latin), dwelling, growing on Fucus (Stearn 1985).
According to Burrows (1991) this species is a synonym of Pseudopringsheimia fucicola (Rosenvinge) Wille.
