Holotype locality: "Wistari Reef, near Heron I., Queensland, 23°29' S, 151°53' E)" [Australia] (Huisman & Kraft 1984: 80). Holotype: G.T. Kraft & C. O’Brien; 31 v 1976; growing in tufts on coral at 15 m depth. MELU 24217 (Huisman & Kraft 1984: 78 (fig. 27)).
