General Environment
This is a marine species.

Description
Blades circular when young, stipitate and peltate, developing and maintaining a more-or-less stellate morphology with ligulate lobes at maturity. Adjacent blades anastomosing, and forming secondary attachments to the substratum. Thalli iridescent in colors ranging from whitish-yellow to bronze. Blades capable of regeneration leaving thickened collars on the stipe following erosion. Cystocarps ampulliform; adventitious filaments developing an extensive investment from the inner wall of the pericarp to the gonimoblast.
