Type locality: Key West, Florida; (Dawson 1962: 57) Type: W. H. Harvey; epiphytic on "gorgoniae"; (Dawson 1962: 57) Notes: According to Dawson (1962: 57) the type collection is probably located in Harvey Herbarium, Dublin, Ireland.

Adjective (Latin), very slender (Neal 1993).
