Type locality: Loughavaul Little (the other used name is Lough Avaul Lower), close to the R572 road in Western Ireland (51°43'20"N, 9°3'37.6"W); (Urbánková et al. 2015: 68) Holotype: Jana Kulichová (Veselá); 17 June 2010; small lake; 93 m above sea level; pH=7.1; B; circled specimen on slide B 40 0041373 - natural population (Urbánková et al. 2015: 67, fig. 3) Notes: Isotype: Slide B 40 0041374 - monoclonal culture F378.

Adjective (Latin), curved (Stearn 1973).
