The type species (lectotype) of the genus Mesophyllum is Mesophyllum lichenoides (J.Ellis) Me.Lemoine.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Macedonis tethygenis Athanasiadis & D.L.Ballantine.
