The type species (lectotype) of the genus Laurencia is Laurencia obtusa (Hudson) J.V.Lamouroux.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Palisada cervicornis (Harvey) Collado-Vides, Cassano & M.T.Fujii.
