Type locality: Fangcheng, Guangxi, China; (Tseng & Lu Baoren 1992: 24) Notes: Tseng & Lu (1992: 24) give the following data: growing on lower intertidal rocks; in November (AST 55-3068, 55-3069, 55-3075).

Origin of Species Name
Participle B (Latin), becoming shrubby (Stearn 1973).
