Type locality: San Marcial reef south of Bahia Aqua Verde, Gulf of California; (Dawson 1961: 206) Holotype: March 10, 1937; At a depth of 16-30 m.; Herb. A. Hanock foundation; sheet 15089 (Dawson 1961: 206) Notes: Norris (1985) notes that the type locality is reef (vicinity of Roca San Marcia), about 1ΒΌ miles north-northeast of Punta San Marcial (south of Bahia Agua Verde.
