The type species (lectotype) of the genus Rhodoglossum is Rhodoglossum lanceolatum (Harvey) J.Agardh.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Mazzaella digitata (E.Y.Dawson) J.N.Norris & Fredericq.

Adjective (Latin), digitate, with leaflets radiating from tip of leaf-stalk (Stearn 1973).
