Origin of Species Name
Adjective (Latin), very small; minute (Stearn 1973).
General Environment
This is a marine species.
Habitat
Epiphytic , either on stems of the sea grass Amphibolis antarctica, or on various green and red algae (Huisman et al, 1993: 150). Described as epiphytic on Rhodopeltis, Amphibolis, Halimeda and Hennedya, and apparently occurs on several firm-surfaced red algae (Womersley 1996: 46).
