Type Species
The type species (lectotype) of the genus Stauroneis is Stauroneis phoenicenteron (Nitzsch) Ehrenberg.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Luticola goeppertiana (Bleisch) D.G.Mann ex Rarick, S.Wu, S.S.Lee & Edlund.
