The type species (lectotype) of the genus Kallymenia is Kallymenia reniformis (Turner) J.Agardh.

Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Austrokallymenia rosea (Womersley & R.E.Norris) Huisman & G.W.Saunders.

Adjective (Latin), rose-coloured (Stearn 1973).
