This is a marine species.

Description
Thalli broadly membranous, to 12 mm in width between irregularly scattered perforations; surface vegetative cells domed, frequently subacutely papillate; hair primordia often obcuneate, with broadly domed apical cells and narrow bases, the primordia scattered singly, in pairs or in lax groups of up to six on blade surfaces, not arising in depressions, seldom growing out into hairs; plurangial sori discrete, usually sharply angular in outline, irregularly radiating from points adjacent to hair primordia but not extending generally over thallus surface; plurangial palisades not densely crowded, the plurangia often appearing stalked on the papillae of transversely divided surface cortical bearing cells.
