General Environment
This is a freshwater species.

Description
Valves linear, slightly constricted in the middle, with obliquely cuneate and finally subrostrate apices, 24-30 µm long, 3.8-4.2 µm wide. Raphe strongly eccentric, fibulae distinct, 13-14 in 10 µm, the median two father apart. Transapical striae finely punctate, 27-29 in 10 µm, interrupted by an indistinct longitudinal sternum. The new species resembles N. parvula W. Smith but the valves are narrower
